La Gerbe

Henri Matisse's fragile health at the end of World War II did not stop him from producing new paintings. Instead, it helped him find new inspirations and freedom in his art. Lydia Delectorskaya, his assistant, was crucial to his success during his last 14 years, helping him with everything from cleaning his brushes to organizing exhibitions. One of his most famous works during this period is "La Gerbe," which showcases vibrant colors and the movement of shapes.
